About

“In my experience, as a young black artist, you have to fulfill an archetype, or be a token - and I was unwilling to do that.”

Journalist || Graphic Designer || Mother of One

I double-majored in Graphic Design and Journalism at Azusa Pacific University. After interning for the award-winning nonprofit media organization dedicated to telling the personal and professional stories of women business owner, The Story Exchange, I went on to design at Ron Ben Studios, where I worked for nearly two years.

I am passionate about the importance of storytelling, seeking first-hand reporting and writing experience. I look to speak truth and seek opportunities. I believe that it is my duty to find truth in all situations and tell the stories of those fighting against oppression – visible or invisible.

My additional major in graphic design allows me to work in a different medium, as well as enhancing the stories of others using appealing designs. My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find points of meaning behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I look for several points of meaning in each project and usually end up refining the one I find most controversial.
